Blocks that list your content automatically

These blocks don't hold their own content — they pull it from one of your other collections. Add the items in their own screen first (News, Events, Documents, Stats, Job Openings, Staff or Resource Cards), then add the block here and it stays current on its own. You very rarely need Manual selection — it's there for the odd page that needs a fixed, hand-picked set rather than "whatever's current".

Every block in this article has the same two-mode shape: an automatic mode that pulls from the collection by category or shows everything, and a manual mode where you pick specific items. Once you understand one, you understand all seven.

News Grid

News Grid in Add Block. Shows your News articles in a grid.

Field What it does
Content Source Latest (automatic) or Manual selection
Filter by Categories Automatic mode only. Leave empty for all categories
Items to Show Automatic mode only
Show Search / Show Pagination Automatic mode only
Enable Year Tabs / Enable Sorting Automatic mode only
News Items Manual mode only

See News for how articles get into this list in the first place.

Events List

Events List in Add Block. Shows your Events.

Field What it does
Display Type Grid View, Calendar View, or Both View — Both adds a toggle so visitors switch between them
Show Past Events Off by default
Enable Search / Show Pagination Optional
Limit Maximum events shown. Required
Event Tabs 1 to 4 tabs, each filtering to chosen Event Types. Leave a tab's types empty to include everything in that tab

Unlike the other list blocks, Events List has no separate manual-selection mode — it's always live from the Events collection, filtered by whichever tabs you set up. See Events and Event Types.

Documents List

Documents List in Add Block. Shows your Documents.

Field What it does
Selection Mode By Category or Manual
Categories By Category mode. Leave empty for all
Documents Manual mode
Display Type List View or Grid View, plus an optional toggle
Enable Search / Pagination / Sorting / Year Tabs By Category mode only
Items per Page By Category mode only

See Documents.

Stats List

Stats List in Add Block. Shows your Stats reports. Same shape as Documents List — By Category or Manual, with the same search/pagination/sorting/year-tab options, except it defaults to Grid View rather than list, since a stats report is really an image.

See Stats.

Job Openings List

Job Openings List in Add Block. Shows your Job Openings.

Field What it does
Selection Mode Manual (pick specific openings) or All (every current opening)
Enable Search Optional
Enable Date Filter Adds a "Posted" date filter
Show Pagination / Items Per Page All mode only
Job Openings Manual mode only

Note the default here is Manual, the opposite of the other list blocks — if you want a page that always shows every current opening without picking them, switch Selection Mode to All. See Job Openings.

Staff

Staff in Add Block. Shows your Staff directory, or one department from it.

Field What it does
Selection Mode Manual (pick specific people) or By Category (a whole department)
Category By Category mode — the department, see Departments
Enable Search Optional
Show Pagination / Items Per Page By Category mode only
Buttons Up to 2, e.g. "View All Staff"

See Staff.

Community Resources

Community Resources in Add Block. Shows cards from the Resource Cards screen — the same block used in the homepage's Community Resources section.

Field What it does
Subtitle Optional label above the heading
Title The heading. Required
Description Optional text under the heading
Cards 1 to 8, chosen from Resource Cards

Unlike the other blocks in this article, this one has no automatic/all mode — you always pick which cards show, up to 8. Create or edit the card's content in Resource Cards itself; this block only chooses which ones appear here. See Resource Cards.
