FAQs
FAQs is under Content in the left-hand menu. Each entry is one question and its answer.
FAQs don't appear anywhere on their own — they show up where an FAQ block has been added to a page. Add the entry here first, then make sure a page has the block.
Adding a question
- Click FAQs in the left-hand menu.
- Click Create New.
- Type the Title — this is the question.
- Write the Text — this is the answer.
- Click Save.
Both fields are required. The entry will not save with either left empty.
There is no draft. Saving publishes the entry immediately, wherever an FAQ block is showing it.
Writing good FAQ entries
Write the question the way a member would ask it. "How do I renew my membership?" gets found; "Membership renewal procedure" does not.
One question per entry. If an answer has two halves that people ask about separately, make two entries.
Keep answers short. If an answer needs several paragraphs and screenshots, it probably wants a page of its own, with the FAQ answer pointing at it.
Who can do what
Admins, Editors and Authors can create and edit FAQs. Only Admins and Editors can delete one.
Removing a question
Click Delete. It disappears from every page showing it, immediately, and there is no undo.
If a question is only out of date rather than wrong, editing the answer is nearly always better than deleting — the question is evidence that people were asking it.
